Our five-level adult workshop program (18 plus) is imbued with the ImprovBoston performance philosophy which is based on five pillars: confidence, trust, support, risk, and fun. Successful improvisation stems from having confidence in yourself, trusting and supporting your fellow improvisers, and, perhaps most importantly, surrendering to the fun of play and discovery. Each Level builds on the previous and truly fosters an ensemble experience. Classes run for eight-week sessions, starting at the beginning of each quarter: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. Please make sure you have fulfilled the prerequisites for the class you wish to take. Please check each level's schedule for class location. Registration is currently closed. We will begin fall registration soon. How to Register for ImprovBoston Classes Workshop Schedule: Summer, 2008 Registration now open for all classes. Level I – The Fundamentals of Improvising

The Building Blocks of Long-Form
At the beginning of this level, students will be familiar, and mostly confident with their knowledge of the tools available to them when beginning a scene. Level III explores at a deeper level the dynamics of building a scene with two or more players. It focuses on identifying and developing themes, patterns, games, story, and playfulness. It will particularly hone the ability of players to agree to be successful and play at a much more satisfying level with each other. This depth of understanding will contribute a great deal to the student’s ability to play long-form structures. $195 per person.
